The Eastern League has announced Trenton third baseman Brandon Laird has won the Eastern League MVP Award and Rookie of the Year Award. Laird appeared in 107 games with the Thunder and hit .291 with 23 homers and 90 RBI in his first career Double-A season.

Portland Sea Dogs catcher Ryan Lavarnway has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week and Reading Phillies right-hander Michael Cisco has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 29th. Official Press Release
The Eastern League has announced that New Hampshire Fisher Cats right-handed starting pitcher Kyle Drabek is the winner of the 2010 Eastern League Pitcher of the Year Award. The 22-year old has a record of 14-9 with 123 strikeouts and a 2.98 ERA in 25 starts this season.
